Project 2
Video Project
Due Date: Oct 29th

DESCRIPTION:

This project asks you to create a short film combing what you learned from project 1, assignment 2, and other narrative and visual techniques covered in class. Using adobe premier (or another video editing program of your choice) you will create a short video (2-3mins) that explores or informs about an idea, visualizes an emotion or story, or adds to an existing work (such as a poem or list). By combining audio and music/natural sounds with archival and found footage you will make a multimodal narrative that re-contextualizes the original materials. You will also need to consider elements of framing, color, texture, visual language, metaphor, etc. You must use, archival/vintage, copyright free video for this project. (You will have an opportunity to work with shooting video for your final project.)

A few examples can be visualizing a recorded poem, abstract video to go along with someone talking (such as a lecture or a memory), visuals that go with you reciting a list or poem or dialog (such as vintage shots to accompany a Mary Oliver poem), or something else entirely. Make sure you reference examples given and create a unique and engaging piece you are proud of.
