Project 3
Final Digital Narrative Project
DUE DATE: Dec 10th

PROJECT CATEGORIES:

VIDEO/AUDIO PROJECT
DIGITAL WRITING / PUBLISHING

DESCRIPTION:

This project asks you to combine all the skills and knowledge you've gained in your previous assignments and projects to create a larger group multimedia project. You will work in groups of 3 or 4 for this.

Your final digital storytelling project asks you to identify a specific social issue and related audience, and to place related information in a narrative context using digital tools and storytelling principles. As with the previous projects in this course, this project permits considerable flexibility, and is intended to give you creative license as you hone and/or expand your narrative, audio, and video presentation skills. Experimentation is encouraged, provided your project meets the following criteria:

Represent a clear purpose
Exhibit narrative intent & storytelling principles
Engage with a contemporary social issue or topic
Involve other voice(s) besides your own

Some examples include, a documentary about a concept or issue, a short video feature on an individual or community or business, a multimedia campaign, a single page website of fragmented narratives or poems, a series of designs or graphics that visualize information, a multimedia photo story/narrative of a trip or moment in history, a roadmap or series of tools or questions for designers or engaged citizens, a digital zine, book, or publication.

Project Requirements:

~ Must have content from multiple sources (interviews, footage, data, etc.)
~ Must revolve around a contemporary social issue or topic (loosely defined)
~ Must utilize both digital tools and contemporary narrative concepts
~ Group members must have assigned roles.
